We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer to join this established mining operation. The position being offered is for permanent employment based on a residiential or FIFO basis. The role will be based in central Africa on a large scale base metals operation.

Reporting to the Manager Mining/ Senior mining engineer, you will work on a roster and will take responsibility for a variety of production related duties, most specifically, the medium / long term planning. It is expected that you will 'hit the ground running' with the ability to address the following:

• Production of drill & blast designs to meet operational schedules and in accordance with mine designs.
• Develop and update drill & blast procedures
• Produce plans from geological data and mine designs for long and medium term mining.
• Liaise with a variety of contacts to form and implement accurate plans and designs
• Review and communicate with Production Supervisors to identify areas for further improvement
• Assist with daily and weekly planning preparation i.e. short-term plans, pit modifications etc..
The position will require a proven background of at least 5 - 7 yrs large scale open-pit production. It is also expected that you will offer the following:

• Tertiary Qualifications - Mining Engineering
• Restricted QM Ticket (not essential)
• Proven large scale open-pit production background (mining engineering)
• Excellent communication skills
• Full Drivers License

The position requires an immediate start and a highly attractive salary will be negotiated to attract those most suited to the position. It is a FIFO ex-Perth position or residential role in Africa however, international candidates are encouraged to register interest.
