Due to expansion, our client is currently seeking a Mining Engineer – Short Term Planning at their underground coal operations in NSW. This is a major mining organisation and the successful Mining Engineer will be remunerated competitively, have long term job stability and become part of a dedicated team of industry professionals who are no fuss, professional and committed to the job but also have a healthy work / life balance.
As the Mining Engineer – Short Term Planning you will provide effective direction and technical advice to operations planning and scheduling and mine operations in all aspects of production and development planning and scheduling in the daily to 12 month time frame. Short term planning and scheduling includes all aspects of production and development planning to achieve requirements.
Major responsibilities include:
• Supporting the team in such a way as to ensure alignment with business direction.
• Providing advice to mine operations on scheduling and planning aspects of the mining operation.
• Implementing, maintaining and recommending improvements to the guidelines and recommendations specified in the medium term mine plan.
• Identifying and recommending improvements to the planning and scheduling process and scope the trialling of any hypothesis.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in:
• Mine planning, grade control, geology, surveying, chemistry.
• Application and maintenance of legislative and regulatory standards.
• Developing processes to remove barriers between teams and promote collaborative work within output teams, between output teams.
• Working across output teams and interface effectively with your customers as well as ability to work in a flexible manner.
Applicants require tertiary qualifications in either Mining or Civil Engineering.
An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, commensurate with qualifications, skills, capabilities and experience.
