As one of Australia’s most successful and well known Construction Contractors, our client has maintained and delivered their corporate goals and growth margins amidst challenging markets.

With their focus now on maintaining high order book levels and working in emerging and diverse markets, there is now a need to secure the services of an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong Process/O&G/Mining focus.

Essentially you must demonstrate an established network within the Public and Private sector with project owners and developers, particularly in the Oil and Gas sectors. Familiarity with associated Government Bodies (Federal and State) is advantageous. The successful candidate will have prior civil/mech./process engineering experience, showing an appreciation for the nature of the market place, opportunities and funding/delivery models. The ability to prepare attractive and well-considered solutions that respond to clients needs, develop written reports and costings, prepare and submit expressions of interest to clients and promoting the company’s capabilities is foremost.

Strong skills in financial appraisal, risk management and commercial negotiation are well sought combined with the ability to see a problem and present a suitable, viable solution.

The ability to network through varying industry bodies and sectors is key, nurturing strong industry networks and form long-standing client relationships with the senior management of Government and Institutional investors as well as with key decision-makers of local businesses. You must demonstrate high energy and commitment to the development and growth of the business.

They are looking for a person with exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills, a good technical understanding of the construction process. A degree in civil engineering will be highly regarded, but not essential. Applications will only be considered if you have delivered in a related role within the wider Construction markets. Networks across QLD are paramount.

Ultimately you will help sustain the long-term growth of the business to ensure it meets its revenue and profitability targets.
