Our Client is an Australian owned and operated multi-disciplinary consultancy, providing engineering services to the building, construction and development industries including Structural, Civil, Environmental, Forensic, and Project Management sectors. The company is currently going through a growth phase and there is an opportunity for a suitability qualified engineer to head up the newly formed division of Geotechnical Engineering and to develop their Melbourne Geotechnical business.

Joining the team as the Geotechnical Engineering Manager you will play a significant role and be a key member responsible for the overall management and strategic development of the Victorian business. This will be varied and challenging role where you will have complete control over budgets, accounts and corporate reporting. This will be a key strategic role within the business and an opportunity for a person who has strong engineering skills, previous consulting experience and ambition to become involved in future business development opportunities. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

Executing the company established geotechnical knowledge and systems into the Victorian businessWorking closely with the colleagues in other offices Keeping ahead of Geotechnical industry developmentsRelationship and network building Classifying soil samples in accordance with AS 2870Preparing Site Information Reports for buildersTraining and mentoring staffWorking closely with builders queriesForecasting workSupervising the geotechnicians

Initially this role will be largely technical but will progress into a more focused management position. You must be tertiary qualified in Geotechnical Engineer with working knowledge of AS 2870. Ideally you will have previous experience in the residential building sector and experience working in a similar role would be preference. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and have the motivation to develop a successful business within a corporate framework.
