Located in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, Ok Tedi Mining is one of the world’s biggest open cut mines and concentrators. Reporting to the Senior Executive Management, this role is responsible for providing effective and passionate leadership in the management of Occupational Health and Safety across all aspects of the operation’s activities. The operation has an enviable safety record and is intent upon achieving the required behavioural and culture change necessary to drive the organisation towards Zero Harm underpinned by an understanding of “employee obligations” and duty of care. The effective performance of this role requires tertiary qualifications in health and safety along with a demonstrable record of achievement and experience in leading management teams in contemporary mining and mineral processing environments. A passion for excellence in safety management and an in depth knowledge and understanding of occupational health and safety standards and procedure, compliance systems and risk management systems is essential.
