Technician - Microsoft/SQL Database/Administrator

Searching for an expert level Microsoft SQL DBA with experience, scripting, and administration for a long term contract assignment in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities:

-> Evaluate data and develop a plan and timeline to effectively Re-IP agency servers within the constraints of the master schedule and project manager
-> Provide technical guidance to project manager
-> Work with existing database administrators to provide recommendations for moving or migrating existing environment
-> Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system
-> Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
-> Support multiple locations within the Richmond metroplex

Requirements:

-> BSCS, Information Technology or other relevant job experience
-> Have a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft SQL running on stand-alone and clustered platforms
-> Have comprehensive technical knowledge of multiple-vendor IT technologies
-> Help to develop staff and knowledge transfer of expertise
