Job Description
Your focus will be on forecasting and recommending corrective actions in a timely manner and facilitating resolution of cost related issues.
Key duties may include:
- Detailed knowledge of the Operating Procedures for Project Controls
- Knowledge of the scope of work for the project
- Input to the development of the Project Controls Plan
- Coordinate and monitor cost engineering activities and implementing required resources and systems to ensure availability of timely, accurate cost information and forecasts
- Monitor, analyze, and forecast of all cost elements on the project, including changes
- Facilitate Cost Trending meetings
- Facilitate cost portion of weekly project team meetings
- Input or update budget information, expenditure information, and forecasts into the cost reporting systems
- Develop and process changes in the change management system. This may also include interface with the client.
- Earned value analysis based on input from project leads. Recommending corrective actions when necessary
- Prepare and analyze revenue and cost for home office and field services, including margin analysis
- Prepare and assist Business Development in the preparation of Proservices estimates for proposals
- Recommended usage of contingency / AFU
- Assist in assigning personnel to each project
- Perform personnel performances evaluations
- Have a good understanding of the scheduling techniques and principles being used on the signed projects
- Able to read and understand major engineering deliverables P&ID, Site Plans, General Arrangement, etc.
- Print and distribute technical and administrative reports, assembly of monthly report packages
- Other project control duties as assigned
Training and Experience
- BS or MS in an Engineering Discipline and/or equivalent experience REQUIRED.
- Minimum of 10 years project controls experience in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
- Proficiency in design, procurement, and construction/field service processes and their inherent cost performance risks
- Must have good understanding of Jacobs project delivery process
- Proficiency with computers
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing and database software
- Knowledgeable in the functions and use of commercial and/or project controls systems
- Proficient in cost engineering principles and methods including:
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Change Management Systems / Procedures
- Work Breakdown Structures
- Earned Value Systems
- Contingency / AFU Development
- Benchmarking
Other Essential Functions
- Proficiency use of Project Control Systems
- Capable of supervising and communicating with the project controls team to ensure complete understanding and fulfillment of project/program objectives
- Capable of effectively communicating with all levels of management and the client. Must identify potential problems and elevate these to the appropriate levels of management
- Able to make oral presentations
- Excellent interpersonal skills
