Experience: Minimum Requirements
Experience (General & Specialized): Minimum 10/ 15 /20 Years Geosciences work experience in E&P industry with not less than 5 / 8 / 10 years in the Specialized area (For experience, subtract 2 years for Masters and 3 years for Ph.D. if done in relevant discipline)
Main task will be planning & implementing petrophysics activities of the asset team such as qualitative and quantitative interpretation of well logs, preparing logging plans for wells, and providing petrophysics inputs for static model building, as well as petrophysics support for well drilling and monitoring including geosteering, The responsibility includes petrophysical core to log calibration, supporting routine & special core analysis, and use of specialized well log processing techniques such as image log processing, geomechanical processing, and petrophysical facies identification/ rock typing for improved reservoir definition.
• Log interpretation software such as PetroWorks, Geoframe-Elan, Geolog and Petrel- Petrophysics etc.
• Experience in use of petrophysical techniques for aiding lithological, depositional and sequence stratigraphic interpretation such as dipmeter interpretation, neural network based facies identification
• Good experience with both open & cased hole log tools & techniques and principals with proficiency in log data quality control, well log splicing and log normalization
• Experience in use of well log techniques for lithology and fluid identification as well as for porosity, shaliness and water saturation estimation.
• Proficiency in petrophysical work flows, standard industry equations and processing steps for formation evaluation including familiarity with the use of "log interpretation charts"
• Experience in both oil and water based well logs in clastic / carbonate reservoirs with expertise in well log correlation, log motif identification, environmental interpretation, permeability transforms, thin bed interpretation, and mineral identification.• Expertise in the use of special well logs such as magnetic resonance & electron capture spectroscopy logs for fluid/ porosity/ mineral typing and quantification as well Dipole shear sonic for anisotropy definition
Conversant with UNIX and PC platforms including MS Office suite as well as familiarity with well log databases and archival softwares such as OpenWorks, Finder, LogDB etc.
Job Scope
Provides specialised geosciences related inputs in formulating cost effective short, medium and long term appraisal and development plans of the asset fields that result in maximising the ultimate recovery.
Provides specialised geosciences inputs for preparation of optimal reservoir management plans for the asset fields including necessary techno-economic, sensitivity & decision analyses to evaluate and recommend preferred options
Provide specialised support for integrated reservoir characterisation, static model building and hydrocarbon volumetric estimation for field development utilising multidisciplinary geological, geophysical, petrophysical, reservoir & production data.
Identifies technical challenges, problems and risks concerned with respective specialisation areas affecting field development projects and recommends/ initiates necessary steps to resolve the issues to improve performance including HSE aspects.
Provide specialised support for identification of well locations, well designs, well trajectory, and monitor well's drilling progress, recommend on mid-course corrections/ improvisations during drilling, testing, completion and workover operations to ensure delivery of set objectives.
Undertakes special assignments, projects, studies assigned by the Management including acting as a member in committees/ task forces and reviews plans, programs, proposals, studies and reports to provide expert opinion / necessary recommendations.
Determines Geoscientific work-flows and processes from several existing alternatives according to professional industry standards and bench marks company processes to standardise/ improvise them
Enhance continuously the geoscientific understanding of the petroleum reservoir through application of new industry concepts, tools and work-flows as well as through research to update/ improve development plans and performance.
Plans, facilitations, supervises, coaches, mentors and monitors technical works of the senior geosciences staff in the assigned field development asset team.
Liaise, develop, coordinate and maintain sound relationship with internal and external bodies related to his/her field of specialization
