Excellent Opportunity for a Home Based CONSTRUCTION APPLICATIONS ENGINEER with Civil Construction experience needed in the West or Southwest to support selection, permitting, construction, and commissioning of small electric power generation and distributed generation installations. HOME BASED anywhere in the West and Southwest with access to major airport. Requires up to 50% travel.
Responsibilities:
-> Support Technical Sales and Clients in identifying and evaluating potential new projects sites, assisting with proposal development, interfacing with clients, reviewing contract scope
-> Provide constructability and site feasibility consulting for heavy equipment installations including foundations and structural steel
-> Advise Clients re: constructability and equipment location feasibility issues and solutions
Requirements:
-> BS Degree in Engineering with solid construction experience in structural foundations, steel erection, and overall construction methods
-> Minimum 5 years relevant construction and large equipment installation experience including specific experience with construction in heavy industries such as power plants, refineries, etc
-> Experience interfacing with Clients advising on construction issues
-> Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
-> A BIG PLUS to have solid experience with construction management including scheduling and subcontracting
-> A PLUS to have PE Professional Engineer registration
