Exciting opportunity to be part of a growing operation
Copper - SX/EW Plant
Our client, an emerging mining company, is currently operating across Central Africa's world class copper belts. They've had a number of established mining operations throughout Africa and are currently in the process of increasing production at their 'signature' operation.
This role is a FIFO based position and will involve living in an small, established onsite residential community. To manage their operation in Africa, our client is looking to appoint a Senior Metallurgist / Process Manager who offers the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
Considerable experience in the mineral industry with relevance to Solvent Extraction - electro-winning process plants (XX/EW)and heap leach operations.
Good leadership, communication and problem solving skills
An ability to exercise initiative and contribute to the performance and success of the operations
An ability to work with supervisors and operating crews to achieve budgeted targets.
Your key responsibilities will consist of
Monitoring critical equipment
Providing accurate and timely Metal Balance data to Accounting
Training other Metallurgists in the role of Process Metallurgist
Project planning and budgeting.
Key to success in this role will be your previous working history in the mining industry and your experience and ability to not only be a "technical guru" but to be able to people manage effectively in this harsh and challenging environment.
