City Design is a multidisciplinary consultancy within Brisbane City Council that combines design expertise with sound project management principles to deliver innovative designs for natural and built environments. City Design embeds sustainability, fosters environmental and cultural awareness and delivers best practice and quality design into each project.

The Water and Environment group within City Design has an opening for an experienced Environmental Engineer to contribute to the protection and enhancement of the waterways of Brisbane, benefiting the urban environment valued by one million plus residents of Brisbane.

In a team of 15 environmental and engineering specialists, your responsibilities would include:
urban creek erosion rehabilitation natural channel design fish passage sustainable stormwater management strategies and design retrofitting water sensitive urban design in an established urban environment integrated water cycling planning, including water balance modelling.You have the opportunity to work in three main product areas requiring environmental engineering - Waterway Health Enhancement, Stormwater Management and Integrated Water Cycle Planning.

A technically competent and confident consulting engineer will enjoy this role managing multiple projects autonomously from feasibility to construction, delivering value for money, quality products for South East Queensland. You will also transfer your knowledge by providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff.

The role requires extensive liaison with internal clients as well as external contractors to develop solutions for managing stormwater and waterway health within an urban environment. A high level of customer service, innovation and negotiation skills is required to ensure the best possible solution for all projects undertaken.

Please note the position requires RPEQ accreditation or ability to gain RPEQ within six months.
