BHP Billiton Shared Services Centres perform leveraged, transactional activities at central locations, allowing our diverse businesses around the world to benefit from cost and time efficiencies. The Kuala Lumpur centre will function predominantly as a transactional back-office facility for BHP Billiton’s global operations providing HR Payroll, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Card Services, Cash Accounting, Inter-company Accounting and Sundry Receivables services, running on SAP. The aim of this new centre is to be world class through offering the right people outstanding development opportunities.

THINK POSITION

We seek a high performance and dynamic professional with a proven track record in championing Payment Services process improvements across the various shared services centres around the world. Reporting to the Global Operations Manager, the successful candidate will lead, develop and manage the Payment Service global process performance to ensure continued process improvement in realizing global effectiveness and standardization of SAP processes.

You will also be the single point of accountability for process and systems governance. You will drive global process standardization, simplification and improvement to ensure that best practices and key performance indicators are achieved.

The ideal candidate engages process teams and stakeholders to focus on delivering process improvement goals. You will understand the need for change, supports, promotes and delivers on change initiatives, through facilitating brain storming and providing opportunities for teams to generate creative ideas.

Core accountabilities will include:

Staff

* Manage people and teams effectively in a virtual manner (spread amongst the relevant Payment Services Centre’s).
* Lead team by setting expectations, developing competencies, evaluating and managing performance
* Mentor and coach the Services team members to ensure targets are achieved.
* Planning and managing individual staff performance including conflict management, scheduling of work and staff training
* Provide advice and support to build appropriate skills within the team
* Provide a safe working environment

Process

* Ensure process is managed and executed effectively
* Manage the global process based on standard operating procedures
* Aggressively drive global process standardisation, simplification and improvement
* Effective management of process differences between the different SAP platforms
* Determine operational and management key performance indicators, ensuring best practices are achieved
* Support operations by providing input into the actioning of any risks affecting business processes.
* Ensure creation and maintenance of documentation relating to Payment Services procedures
* Monitor and ensure adherence for improved process controls

SAP

* Represent the Payment Services function for all cross functional projects that may have an impact on payment processes. Work with other functional representatives where necessary to optimise the payment process stream.
* Review process integrity and compliance.
* Support the Payment Services function to apply SAP standard processes and filter any change requests in line with the SAP Project Charter principles. This includes instilling process disciple and effective application of the SAP process design.
* Support the Payment Services function to initiate process improvements.
* Support the Payment Services function representatives to communicate and drive adoption of the approved SAP processes.

THINK REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate should possess:

* Tertiary qualifications, with significant years of professional experience in established organizations.
* Strong working knowledge of process improvement methodology.
* A high level of communication skills, interpersonal and influencing abilities to build effective relationships across functions and geographical locations
* Experience in driving change is highly desired
* An absolute focus on results with strong project management capabilities
* Knowledge of risk management principles and audit controls for Payment Services highly desired
* Thorough understanding of Procure to pay process is desirable
* Familiarity with ERP system, ideally SAP
