Team Leader- Health and Hygiene

Health and Safety

We are looking for a Health and Hygiene Team Leader whose commitment to the fundamentals of health and safety and continuous improvement will help us achieve our goal of Zero Harm for our people.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Health and Safety, you will lead the hygiene team members to identify workers who may be exposed to occupational health and hygiene risks, create an occupational exposure monitoring program for them, and lead mitigating solutions to eliminate occupational health and hygiene exposure risks. You will also lead the health team members (Physician Assistants) to ensure that all workers are entered into a health surveillance program that monitors them against any possible health exposure effects. You will also support the Physician Assistants to provide the effective emergency medical care to the EKATI workforce.

As the ideal candidate you possess leadership skills that will foster a high performing team to deliver high quality results. You have medical or occupational hygiene knowledge and qualifications with a high level of computer literacy experience. In addition, you have experience in mining operations, proven good interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work in teams to identify problems and implement corrective actions. Demonstrated experience in health or hygiene monitoring and analysis is required.

The EKATI Diamond Mine is located 300 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife and is accessible only by plane. The rotation for this position is 4 days on site followed by 3 days off. The incumbent is expected to reside in Yellowknife. Excellent salary, comprehensive benefits program and relocation assistance are available to the right candidate
