BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s mining operations in the spectacular Pilbara region of WA are one of the largest in the world, shipping more than 120Mtpa of iron ore. Our railways, consisting of more than 800km of track, connect our mines in the Pilbara with our shipping facilities in Port Hedland. The heavy haulage rail system, the heaviest in the world, with more than 100 locomotives and around 4,500 carriages, uses state of the art technology across all facets of the operation.
Position Synopsis
An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Administrator looking for a new challenge.
With a high level of maturity and integrity you will be expected to take responsibility for following through on all issues while ensuring a high level of support is provided to our Finucane Island Operation. Your exceptional organisational skills and keen eye for detail will assist with accuracy and currency of information across the department.
The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Provide high level diary management to the Manager - Finucane Island, ensuring optimal time utilisation;
* Support and assist the Finucane Island Operation with all administration requirements;
* Manage all travel and meeting arrangements;
* Presentation and document preparations as required, including drafting of correspondence;
* Provide support with GSAP payments, invoicing and other administrative system duties;
* Assist in the implementation, monitoring and management of the Documentum filing system;
* Other administrative duties as required, e.g. sorting of mail, filing, maintaining stationary; and
* An overriding commitment and awareness of BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s safety requirements.
Skills and Experience
To be considered, you must have office administration experience and proven proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Your flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, proactive work ethic and flexible, approachable attitude will ensure your success in this role. A sound knowledge of GSAP will be highly regarded.
In addition to your first-rate administration skills, your ability to communicate confidently at all levels and establish a good rapport with a diverse range of people is essential. The ability to operate effectively with limited supervision, multi-task and optimally prioritise the workload is a critical component of this role.
