Position Synopsis
We now seek a suitably qualified professional to lead the Electrical Execution Group and carry out project compliance by inspection of project electrical infrastructure for Sustaining Capital Projects - Nelson Point.
The role will involve working with Sustaining Capital as a project inspector to check associated electrical infrastructure for compliance.
You will review and approve electrical infrastructure for new installations and provide service & installation rules and general conditions of supply to all consumers, contractors and developers associated with the network. You will also be responsible for ensuring that Electrical Installations and equipment are in accordance with AS/NZS 3000:2000 (MS & IR Reg 5.3), maintain records and test results in accordance with Electricity (Supply Standards and System Safety) Regulations 2001 and ensure compliance with the BHP Billiton Supply Authority Inspection Plan.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Co-ordinate, supervise and manage the efficient completion of all site electrical projects for the execution group;
* Foster continuous improvement in safety and implement & manage the company’s Health & Safety policies;
* Construction scheduling;
* Demonstrate commitment to the maintenance of the safety accountability program ensuring the business control exposure to health, safety and environment;
* Comply with company construction policies and procedures; and
* Project requirements with regards to the schedule and delivery of the project are adhered to as set down by the Project Manager
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have an Electrical Trade Qualification and/or Electrical Engineering Background. You will hold an A grade electrical worker’s licence and have significant experience in identification, implementation and monitoring of current statutory electrical requirements.
Extensive knowledge of current Statutory and Company Electrical Standards & Procedures, including M.S.I.R, AS compliance and Electrical Construction experience in the mining and resource sectors will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation is desirable.
