Client that designs and manufactures technologically advanced products and systems for the power generation industry has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Sr. Buyer with 7-10+ years of experience in a strategic sourcing role in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will be someone that works for a company that manufactures large equipment (turbines, boilers, pumps, generators, fans, compressors, etc...) used in power plants, process plants, and similar heavy industrial plants.

Responsibilities:

-> Scans, analyses and reports on local supply markets for assigned commodities
-> Develops supply market strategies for local scope and support the generation of supply strategies for global scope
-> Establishes and maintains the right portfolio of suppliers with focus on localization
-> Manages suppliers by negotiating contracts and achieving cost reductions
-> Allocate purchase orders (PO) and provide price information to tendering, uphold and participate in the company quality and EHS programs

Requirements:

-> 7-10+ years of experience in a strategic sourcing role in an industrial environment
-> Proven strong negotiation & legal skills
-> Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SAP computer software
-> Knowledge of relevant suppliers markets and low cost country sourcing experience
-> Experience working for a company that manufactures large equipment (turbines, boilers, pumps, generators, fans, compressors, etc...) used in power plants, process plants, & similar heavy industrial plants a PLUS

• Detail your experience creating purchase orders (PO) and provide price information to tendering.
