Nickel West is the world’s third largest producer of nickel-in-concentrate.
Leinster Nickel Operation is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and the newly commissioned Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. Our Health, Safety, Environment and Community department are please to offer the role of Emergency Services Officer (ESO). This position allows tremendous scope - responsible for not only the underground and surface mines, but also the town airport and the township of Leinster itself.

Think Purpose
The HSEC department assists LNO in achieving its business objectives by providing support in the areas of Health, Safety, Environment, Community and Emergency Response.
Reporting to the Emergency Services Coordinator, the Emergency Services Officer is the first response to any site emergency including fire fighting, vehicle extrication, hazmat spills, breathing apparatus, rope access, first aid incidents and site security.
In addition you will assist in developing and providing training to site personnel, particularly on mines rescue.
Think Requirements
We expect the successful candidate to have a proven work history in a surface and/or underground mining environment. Holding an Occupational First Aid Certificate we also expect you to have experience in Breathing Apparatus, Industrial Fire Fighting, Industrial Rope Rescue, Vehicle Extrication and Hazardous Materials.
Experience in Patient Management and Emergency Response systems and procedures are essential.
Proficiency with computer systems such as DMS, SAP and MS Office (word, excel, outlook) will be highly regarded as will 4WD and Emergency Driving skills.
On a personal level, we envisage the successful candidate to be extremely motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
