Position Synopsis
We now seek a safety-conscious and motivated individual to take on the new and challenging position of Mechanical Supervisor - Outflow. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent - Finucane Island you will be required to provide support, leadership and training to all employees and ensure that the Outflow Group continuously achieves high levels of availability and reliability in the most efficient, cost effective and safe manner.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that all work is performed safely in accordance with BHP Billiton Zero Harm policies and procedures;
* Management of expenditure in accordance with BHPIO policies and procedures within the budgetary constraints;
* Coordination of contract workgroups and mechanical personnel as required;
* Conducting workplace area inspections across site;
* Assisting with the development of a two year budget and the 5 yearly capital maintenance plan;
* Reporting on the performance of your team regularly to meet business requirements; and
* Ensure that all work carried out by persons in relation to your area of responsibility is adequately supervised.
Skills and Experience
To be considered, you must have Mechanical trade qualifications and strong practical experience in developing and leading mechanical teams. The candidate we seek will have extensive supervisory experience and a high level of initiative. With excellent interpersonal skills you will be able to lead throughout our organisation and ensure success within your department.
Working knowledge with computer based planning systems, such as GSAP, coupled with experience in the mining or heavy industry sectors is essential.

This is a residential role, based in Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Located on the coast, Port Hedland is the largest regional centre in the North West, close to Broome, Karratha and Karijini National Park.
