Position Synopsis
We are currently seeking a safety focused individual to maintain a high profile within Port Operations and ensure that safe work practices align with permit and isolation system requirements. The successful candidate will assist in planning isolations and permitting requirements.
Key Duties will include:
* Promotion of safe work practices within permit and isolation system requirements;
* Monitor and audit policies and procedures related to isolations, permitting and safe work procedures for continuous improvement recommendations;
* Coaching individuals in using the permitting and isolation system in a safe effective manner;
* Training and assessment in isolations, permitting and safe work procedures; and
* Participate and lead investigations into permit, tagging and isolations events.
Skills and Experience
To be considered you must have a Trades Certificate and/or several years experience in fixed plant operations. You should have experience in WA Iron Ore isolations, permitting and tagging procedures. Interpersonal skills alongside coaching experience will also be favourably viewed. In addition, demonstrated experience with PC based planning systems and the ability to present plans and ideas will be highly regarded.
Location
This is a residential role, based in Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Located on the coast, Port Hedland is the largest regional centre in the North West, close to Broome, Karratha and Karijini National Park. The 15,000-strong population enjoys well-established education service, entertainment, sporting, shopping and medical facilities, and a strong sense of community.
