Position Synopsis
We are seeking a team-spirited and safety conscious individual to actively contribute to the achievement of production targets through the efficient supply of equipment and materials to customers (User Departments and Repairers).
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be required to receive, consolidate, issue, load and dispatch ordered goods in a timely manner. You will also have the opportunity to apply your proven initiative in identifying and solving problems. The ability to comply with directions and instructions is essential in this role.
Operating in a climate of continuous improvement, and in compliance with the Newman Safety System, you will provide general stores services including:
* Assisting with the Inventory Control of goods stored in the Warehouse;
* Ensuring that purchased goods are received and despatched in accordance with standard operating procedures;
* Monitoring for any damaged, defective, short or oversupplied goods and acting accordingly;
* Assisting with identifying, handling and transporting dangerous goods with due regard to Government regulations;
* Ensuring goods are transported in compliance with special transport arrangements;
* Processing goods returned to the Warehouse, and receiving and unloading Truck Consignments;
* Preparing all relevant documentation;
* Ensuring that items in storage comply with Dangerous Goods Regulations where applicable;
* Participating in Safety Activities including auditing and inspection routines;
* Assisting with ensuring that Warehouse equipment is in good repair and regularly serviced; and
* Assisting in the compiling of goods that are surplus to requirements.
The work roster may comprise standard hours, a Monday-Friday day-shift position or a day/night shift rotation to provide a 24-hour service to User Departments. Therefore, it is anticipated that you will be expected to commit to a shift roster, and additional hours during critical periods.
Skills and Experience
To be considered, you need to have current ‘C’ and ‘HR’ class driver’s licences and a Forklift ticket. You must be computer literate, experienced in SAP, and able to demonstrate a methodical, systematic approach to work, coupled with a track record of operating effectively with limited supervision. Experience in warehousing is essential. A Dangerous Goods qualification and Senior First Aid training would be an advantage.
