Gregory Crinum Mine is one of eight mines and a port owned and operated by the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance. The mine employs approximately 330 people and produces 4 million raw tonnes of high quality coking coal per annum. The mine is located 50km from the township of Emerald which has a population of approximately 14,000. Emerald is a large modern regional centre based on rural, tourism and service industries as well as mining, and boasts an excellent range of services and facilities.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Coal Processing Manager to fill an integral role within the Gregory Crinum Management team and demonstrate behaviours that are in accordance with our values.
Position:
Reporting to the General Manager you lead a team of approximately 28 operators, engineers and maintenance personnel. You will be responsible for all activities (projects, maintenance and operations) associated with the processing of up to 5million tonnes of raw coal, in accordance with the Gregory Crinum Business Plan. You will ensure that the plant consistently produces quality coking coal.
To be successful you will have a demonstrated record of delivering results in safety, continuous improvement strategies, plant maintenance and operations. Working with both the Management Team and Plant personnel, you will actively contribute to creating a high performance culture that delivers superior business outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
You will have experience in Processing Plant operations or a similar heavy industry environment and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills necessary to deal with a diverse range of groups.
Whilst not essential, a degree in a relevant engineering discipline would be considered an advantage. Overlaying all of these requirements, it is essential that you have outstanding leadership qualities.
The successful candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate the following;
• Exposure to root cause analysis, quality and process improvement.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
• Practical experience in a processing related environment with a range of equipment.
• Ability to work effectively within and manage a small team
