The Position
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, as Dispatch Supervisor you will be provided with challenging and exceptional opportunities to work within a diverse mining environment. Taking a leading role in the commissioning and post installation operation and maintenance of the Modular Fleet Management System (FMS). You will be integral to the success of the FMS, delivering accurate, real time data to achieve GEMCO’s long term production targets in both overburden removal and ore production processes.
The Purpose
* Play a lead role in the installation and commissioning of the new FMS system hardware and software to ensure it meets GEMCO’s requirements
* Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, operation and monitoring of the new FMS system to ensure the system meets or exceeds stakeholder requirements
* Maintain and improve all aspects of the hardware, software and communication components
* Administer the FMS service support contract with the supplier to ensure the supplier meets their obligations
* Assist in the smooth integration of third party interfaces within the FMS
* Management, monitoring and justification of annual budget requirements and equipment upgrades or replacement
* Ensure compliance to short term plans through interaction with Technical and Mining department personnel
* Ensure accurate real time information is captured and recorded by the Dispatch System
* Supervise and coach dispatch engineers
* Provide training to system users including equipment operators, dispatch operators and system users
* Provide data extractions and reports as required
The Requirement
Significant experience in a similar role in mining operations, a sound knowledge of Modular Dispatch Systems and GPS and telemetry technology is essential.
