Principal Geotechnical Engineer

As a result of continued growth and success, our client now has an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer who is looking to be fast-tracked to a Principal Geotechnical Engineer's role.
As Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will be responsible for mentoring and leading the tunnelling team and ensuring the delivery of projects and work packages to agreed time, budget and quality targets. This will include contributing to overall business development by fostering good client relationships through consistently high standards of project delivery and client communication, and participating in bids and tenders. Furthermore, you will provide technical design expertise in relation to tunnelling, civil and mining projects, drawing on your proven geotechnical track record.

Tertiary qualified with a Bachelor of Geotechnical / Civil Engineering or similar, you will currently be an experienced Geotechnical Engineer operating at a senior level, with at least ten to fifteen years experience in geotechnical engineering. You will be recognised as a senior geotechnical engineer with experience in the area of tunnelling, however you may have also acquired your experience in mining or across a range of other geotechnical soil or hard rock projects. Ideally, you will have experience in both Civil and Mining related projects, however experience in disciplines in addition to these will be looked upon favourably, as there is a genuine opportunity to further develop these areas into a business case. The majority of your experience will have been acquired in the Australian market, where you will have a good understanding of key contractors including an established network of contacts. In addition, you will possess proven communication skills and be comfortable working with and liaising with clients, developing and enriching relationships through successful return business strategies.

In return, you will work on some of the most prestigious tunnelling and civil infrastructure projects in Australia with opportunities for international assignments with colleagues and peers respected as being the best in the industry.
