Southern Seawater Alliance (SSWA)

The SSWA is formed by the Water Corporation and the joint venture of Tecnicas Reunidas Australia, Valoriza Water Australia, AJ Lucas Operations and Worley Parsons Services.

When constructed, the Southern Seawater Desalination Plant will produce around 50 gigalitres of drinking water per year, with the potential to increase to 100 gigalitres.

Construction work has commenced, and the new plant will begin operation in 2011.

This position will be based on site at Binningup.

Purpose:

Need to ensure compliance with established procedures related to tendering, evaluation, award of contracts and contract administration, including claims negotiation. Also responsible for post award contract administration activities performed under the direction of the Subcontracts Manager and the site Construction Manager.

Duties:

Provide Contracts Administration support to the project.
Prepare and issue tender and contract documentation;
Call for tenders and quotations for construction, services and consultancies;
Manage queries and clarifications during tender period;
Evaluate tender and quotation responses;
Negotiate contractual terms and agreements with the successful vendors and suppliers;
Make recommendations for award of contracts;
Oversee the execution of contracts;
Administer and manage contracts in accordance with principles, practices and procedures and appropriate Australian Standards and contract law;
Provide advice to contracts and project teams concerning contractual matters including disputes;
Analyse and manage commercial risk to the project;
Assist with communication between the project and its providers in order to deliver products and services according to the project plan;
Manage internal and external contractual stakeholder relationships and influence others to achieve outcomes;
Regularly liaise/communicate and consult with key stakeholders and report on performance of contracts to management and client;
Maintain records of contractor performance;
