Service Manager - Pumps/Machine Shop/Operations

Location: Edmonton, AB, Canada
A manufacturer of industrial pumps needs a Service Center Manager with extensive machine shop and rotating equipment experience, for its office in Edmonton, Alberta. Local candidates are preferred, but some relocation assistance may be available for an outstanding candidate. Above salary is US dollars - salary range is 88K to 100K Canadian dollars.

Responsibilities:

-> Use your experience in rotating equipment manufacturing and repair, and your experience in operations management, to lead the companys Edmonton office, including manufacturing, repairs, field service, administration, and supply chain management
-> Develop and monitor performance plans, budgets, and schedules for the operations, including such areas as quality management, health and safety, legal, environmental
-> Report to corporate management on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timeframes
-> Manage and develop the Service Center staff
-> Work with corporate executives on operational strategy and performance plans

Requirements:

-> BS in Mechanical Engineering
-> MBA preferred
-> At least 5 years experience in operations and maintenance of rotating equipment, preferably centrifugal pumps
-> Experience with peripheral equipment and accessories such as motors, turbines, sealing systems, bearings, couplings
-> At least 2 years experience in machine shop operations such as lathe, milling, drilling, sand blasting, cleaning, welding, balancing, assembly, disassembly, inspection, measurement, static testing, maintenance of machinery and equipment, cutting tools selection, materials used in the pump industry, alignment of rotating equipment
-> At least 1 year management or supervisory experience
