Location: Australia National Indigenous Cadetship Program
Woodside is committed to continually increasing Indigenous employment, training and business participation across Woodside’s activities. Woodside actively participates in the National Indigenous Cadetship Program (NICP) that is aimed at improving the job prospects of Indigenous Australian tertiary students.
What is a Cadetship?
The National Indigenous Cadetship Program is run in conjunction with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and provides students studying full-time towards an undergraduate degree with financial assistance towards their studies and provides opportunities for students to gain work experience during semester breaks.
Benefits of a Cadetship
*
As a Cadet you receive a monthly study allowance of $1333 throughout the academic year (i.e. March — November)
*
Cadets receive an allowance of $500 each semester to assist with the payment of required books and/or equipment.
*
Each year of the Cadetship program, Cadets are required to complete 12 weeks work placement (i.e. December — February). This is an opportunity for Cadets to apply their technical learning and knowledge while gaining on-the-job experience in the oil and gas industry. Cadets are paid a competitive, market related remuneration during their work placement.
*
Cadets will have access to a mentor to discuss issues relating to their employment, NICP program or studies.
*
At the successful completion of the programs, Cadets have the chance to competitively apply for Woodside’s Graduate Program (http://www.woodside.com.au/Careers/Graduates.htm)
Who is eligible to apply for the NICP?
To be eligible to apply for the Cadetship program, you must be enrolled to study in your first and only undergraduate degree at a recognised Australian tertiary institution, be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted as such in the community.
