Our Client is a major minerals company operating globally. The Mining Business Unit operations cover the first phase of the energy cycle and consist of four main activities: mineral exploration (discovering new ore deposits), mining (extraction of energy minerals), ore processing and site reclamation following mining activities. The company operates a number of mines and mineral process plants in Francophone West Africa.
Our Client has a requirement for a SENIOR GEOLOGIST, URANIUM EXPLORATION
The position is based in Africa, though you may be required to carry out your duties in various locations in Francophone West Africa, as well as Southern and Central Africa.
>> Within the Mines Business Unit, you are the Senior Explorationist and are tasked with:
- Leading and coordinating Uranium exploration projects;
- Being involved in project development, and, to this end, planning, developing and managing the exploration process.
>> Your Profile:
- You hold an engineering degree in one of the Geological disciplines, preferably to a tertiary level, from a world recognised educational establishment or university;
- You have significant experience in the exploration discipline, including experience of managing exploration programmes in isolated and sometimes ‘harsh’ locations;
- You have well-developed leadership and management capabilities and well-developed relationship building skills;
- You have a good command of communication and consultation techniques, with experience of presenting findings to senior management;
- You will have more than 10-years experience in the field of geology, with preferable involvement of at least 5-years focussed on Uranium exploration;
- Your English should be fluent (it is hoped that your French communication skills will be at worst ‘basic’ in nature);
- You have experience working in multi-cultural teams.
