Government of South Australia SA Water TEAM LEADER LOWER MURRAY - GOOLWA RIVER MURRAY OPERATIONS UNIT Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this Team Leader position based in Goolwa. Duties: Assist the Supervisor Lower Murray with supervision, operation and maintenance, monitoring and construction activities of all barrages, structures and surrounds at Goolwa, Mundoo, Boundary Creek, Ewe Island and Tauwitchere. This includes leading a construction and maintenance team to undertake routine maintenance and repair of infrastructure, operation of machinery and minor plant, field based construction work, collection of operational data and liaison with other work groups. Skills and Experience: • Essential to hold a current motor drivers licence and motor boat licence.• Desirable to have Heavy Rigid Truck Licence, Crane operator, backhoe and forklift licences, dogging certificate and White Card (OHS induction to construction).• Ideal to have a Frontline Management Certificate or similar.• Ability to plan work, implement work programs and supervise and motivate a team to achieve effective outcomes.• Experience in the operation and maintenance of vehicles, various plant and equipment, power tools, hand tools.• Ability to instruct other staff to safely operate and maintain plant and equipment.• Ability to identify problems and report to Supervisor.• Required to work in coffer dams (confined spaces).• Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal, have basic computer skills.• Knowledge and understanding of OHS regulations and guidelines and a willingness to abide by and lead others to adhere to safe workplace procedures and policies.• Understanding of general operation of barrage, lock and weir structures and environmental and land management issues. Special Conditions:Required to live in the Goolwa area. May be required to work at other locations. Share rostered overtime on weekends. Occasional after hours work may be required.
