Job descriptionPurpose:
Represent the department in EOR matters
Guide and continuously optimize the implementation of the matured EOR Projects in the field
Ensure optimal learning from the EOR projects to enable considerable further expansion of EOR projects
Further define studies and field pilots to enhance oil recovery for the Al Shaheen field
Keep abreast of technology by participating in technical conferences and fora
Principal Accountabilities:
Implement the planned Low pressure and High Pressure gas injection projects consisting of both gas conservation and oil recovery enhancement
Ensure gathering of high quality field and laboratory data relevant for the most promising EOR processes that have been identified
Study the potential of the EOR processes and identifying risks associated with these processes
Perform studies and field tests/pilots to reduce risks for relevant EOR processes
Propose economically and strategically attractive plans for EOR implementation
Initiate and/or maintain involvement in research activities that could benefit the development of the Al Shaheen field
Communicate the EOR study results to PED and other relevant parties by producing reports, oral presentations and potentially journal and/or conference publications
Interact with EOR teams in other Oil companies to ensure that the EOR projects are effectively solved.
Ensure that in all matters prior to decision – technical and commercial assessments are made, due diligence observed and initiatives taken to secure best economic results.
Ensure that all work is carried out in a professional manner, securing compliance with contract, company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws, regulations, procedures etc. And that all work is carried out efficiently.
Ensure that all information, both written and spoken, obtained during the course of work is handled with adequate confidentiality.
Develop and/or improve industrial and personal relations to protect the Company’s interest and promote a productive environment.
Responsibility for managing people:
Responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of 3-5 specialists.
Provide training for summer students and MITAS staff.
Develop Qatari staff.
RequirementsEducation and Experience:
Degree in petroleum engineering / geo-science discipline
10+ years experience in oil & gas industry
Good understanding of carbonate reservoir engineering and oil & gas economics
Experience with implementation of EOR projects from other oil & gas regions
Good network within the EOR community
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Individual drive and good teamwork capabilities
Fluent spoken and written English
Skill set/Competences:
Working knowledge of reservoir engineering, geology and petrophysics.
Ability to function in multi-disciplinary teams.
A team builder and an effective communicator.
Flair to develop and execute third-party engineering studies.
