About the Job

Our client is a well established specialist project and contract management consultancy based in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. They service a wide range of clients throughout Australasia and they are highly regarded as a provider of quality project services across mining, infrastructure, utilities, defence and other general consultancy areas.

With a multimillion dollar project soon to commence, our client is now seeking a highly experienced Cost Engineer. The position is fly in fly out from either Brisbane or Townsville.

The ideal applicant will have an extensive experience and a background in civil, mining and infrastructure. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be required to ensure the cost delivery and timely professional completion of this high end mining project

In this position you will be responsible for ensuring mining and civil projects adhere to budget and time constraints.

Your specific responsibilities will include:
Client side cost and project management
Prepare and updating of cost reports
Project scheduling, planning
Project control methodology
Analysing/reviewing budgets with project teams
Track and review weekly costs and analyse data to ensure charges are within budget
Take part in forecasting all project costs

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, it is essential that you have:
A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Mining)
A minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering consulting, contracting or operational environment
Experience with cost reports and structure reports
A sound understanding of Project control methodology
A demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with professionals at all levels
Strong analytical, planning, organising and reporting skills
The ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
A genuine desire to progress your career
