Operations Manager - Coal Exploration

Our client provides exploration, development & grade control drilling services to mineral exploration and mining companies throughout Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Asia. They are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager (Coal) for their operations.
Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will be responsible for directing all drilling activities, administrative duties and ensure that health and safety programs, policies and procedures are adhered to project sites in the region.

As a key member of the team, your duties will include providing leadership and direction to project employees and supervisory teams, develop appropriate project policies and procedures in consultation with managers, manage and monitor project training programs and ensure training needs are met and documented, assist with negotiating with clients for the procurement of contracts, assist in developing strategies to improve efficiency and ensure smooth operation of the sites.

You will have a tertiary qualification or a related discipline, minimum 10 years experience with coal exploration drilling, minimum of 5 years experience in a management or supervisory position, experience in site administration and current safety practices and experience in all drilling techniques

Your high competency to communicate (verbally and written) across all levels bolstered by your confidence to develop and maintain productive relationships with team members will render you invaluable to this position.
