THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by an international oil and gas operating company to provide a Cost & Planning Engineer to be based in Southern Algeria. One year (renewable) contract, rotation 28/28. Long term single status with good prospects. Camp facilities are of a high standard. Health insurance, including medivac, is provided by CCL. Algerian tax is paid by the Client. This is a long term assignment with good prospects.
THE PERSON
8 - 10 years experience in the engineering & construction of large crude oil and natural gas production facilities. Construction experience with large international design and construction teams. Experience with EPC contract for the engineering and construction of a grass roots facility. Review project schedules, plans / budgets, change requests / orders. Provide input into project budget, forecast, schedule / rotational updates. Prepare project weekly / monthly / annual / ad-hoc reports, implement / administer all aspects of planning / scheduling control for construction site, including schedule change, trend control and schedule estimating. Attend project controls meetings. Monitor EPC contractors performance from a planning perspective. Review / analyse contractors cost reports to ensure accuracy / completeness / detect / manage trends / deviations to current forecast. Responsible for ensuring integration management / control of the multi EPC Contractors schedules / promotion of sound Planning / Progress Measurement engineering practice at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
BSc degree in Business Administration or Accounting (must be able to provide certificates). Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Excel. Ability to learn / execute other specialist planning software as required. Must be eligible for an Algerian Work Permit. Multicultural awareness and previous experience of working in similar desert oilfield situations. All nationalities will be considered. Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory and French is an advantage.
