THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by a major international oil company to provide an Electrical Specialist to be based in Abu Dhabi on a residential status. Reporting to the Engineering Manager will be responsible for Electrical activities during detailed engineering / procurement phases of project. Responsible for definition of Electrical specification requirements / monitor Contractor compliance with all aspects of specified requirements. Contribute to successful management of Electrical interfaces in the project. Make recommendations / decisions on Electrical / matters / options. Must be willing to travel as required by Client. Excellent daily rate.
THE PERSON
Monitor / control Contractor activities / achievements. Report on progress of activity and changes to basis of design. Ensure scope of work is fulfilled. Review / analyze planning updates. Coordinate / follow up scope of work, EPC, expediting, FAT, for discipline related activities. Anticipate problems. Liaise / coordinate interfaces with other disciplines. Review / comment on contractor documents. Provide technical inputs for definition of pre-commissioning / commissioning activities. Participate in site surveys. Provide engineering support to site activities. Coordinate with field operations to ensure compliance of works. Identify site activities which require plant shutdown and advise on plant shutdown requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Ideal candidate will have engineering degree. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Good negotiating and influencing skills. Support / enforce HSEQ project objectives / directives, management system (plans, procedures and specifications). Attend meetings / training. Participate in job safety analysis. Report unsafe acts or conditions observed. Review relevant Contractor QC plan; participate with Contractor to reception, inspection and testing for related items. Excellent technical knowledge plus fluent written and spoken English.
