An opportunity exists for you to join a leading mining company who operate one of the largest open cut mines of its kind in the southern hemisphere. It is a unique operation that offers a regular 5 day working week on a residential or DIDO basis.

Reporting directly to the mine manager, you will be responsible for health and safety matters across all areas of the mine including drill and blast, load and haul, processing, transport, and shipping. As the sole HSE position on site, this is an autonomous role and will offer you the opportunity to develop and improve current systems and procedures.

This role is offered on a contract basis for approximately 9-12 months, and would suit someone on a DIDO basis from the Geraldton / Midwest area.

To be considered for this position, you will require:

2-3 years health and safety experience in open cut operations
Minimum of Certificate 4 in OHS
Exposure to safety systems such as IronSafe
Senior First Aid Certificate and ERT experience desirable
Experience in environmental areas highly regarded
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
Excellent work ethic and desire to lead
