In 2008, the Darlot, Lawlers and Granny Smith Gold Mines were consolidated into one entity known as Yilgarn South. This was part of the Barrick “Yilgarn One” project and at the same time, the purchasing functions of these mines were centralised in Perth, whilst Supply Officer remained site based.

Position Overview:
Darlot Gold Mine is looking to appoint an experienced Supply Officer. Reporting to the Supply Supervisor in Perth the supply Officer is responsible for the day to day operation of the site warehouse. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the appropriate receiving, storage and issuing of goods, inventory control and the loading / unloading of freight.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Management of inventory including maintenance of appropriate inventory levels.
• Quarterly review of slow moving stock to identify and dispose of obsolete items
• Perform regular cyclical stock takes, random counts and reconciliations as required.
• Liaison with various departments to ensure end user customer satisfaction whilst maintaining optimal stocking levels.
• Working with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice variances.
• Achievement of Supply KPI’s
• Safe operation of a forklift.

In addition to having a methodical approach to work, the successful candidate will have good customer service focus and the flexibility to work as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will also prove a key to performing in this important role.

Education and Experience:
• Familiar with integrated inventory software such as Oracle EBS.
• Computer literacy (competency with MS Office Excel)
• several years experience in a similar role in a mining environment or heavy industrial environment.
• Forklift operator ticket.

The Conditions
The role offers an industry leading 8 days on / 6 days off fly in / fly out roster from Perth. An attractive salary package that includes private health insurance and income protection will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with experience. While on site employees have access to fully catered single status accommodation, modern facilities that include Foxtel and a variety of choices like a gymnasium and swimming pool, tennis and squash courts and others.
