Our client has established themselves over the last 15 years as a family orientated manufacturer who supply a range of industrial products to numerous clients across a very broad industry focus. Due to exciting new plans for growth and development they are seeking to employ a tenacious, commercially astute business development manager to kick start a new product introduction in Melbourne. Our client is a young, vibrant, forward thinking organisation and they are seeking similar like minded individuals who would like to build a long term career with them.

In this newly created role you will be responsible for devising and implementing a business plan to take a new industrial steel product range to the market, in Melbourne initially and then with a view to taking the product national. This will require a broad range of skills and experience the most important being relevant industrial sales skills and strong commercial business acumen. The role will be an exciting blend of business development, market analysis, strategic sales and marketing, negotiations, forecasting, budgeting, product training and long term recruiting a team underneath you.

To be considered for interview you will have the following skills and experience;

Proven industrial sales background selling and promoting to various end users.
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
High degree of professionalism and personal presentation.
Tertiary or Engineering qualifications well regarded.
Min of 5 years business development experience.
Previous knowledge of selling steel or pipe products.
Solid negotiations skills and passion for selling.
An ability to hunt new business opportunities and develop existing accounts.
Previous experience of selling to rail, construction, industrial, manufacturing or water industry clients.
Some financial experience eg margins, revenue, budgets, forecasting.
Estimating experience.
A strong sense of urgency, energy and passion.
Desire to move up the career ladder into senior management roles in the future.
Intermediate computer skills.
