Our client is a market leading coal mining operator with significant operations in both NSW and QLD. Due to the continued strength of the NSW Coal mining sector they have a need for a skilled and industry experienced Underground Short Term Mine Planning Engineer to undertake an immediate vancacy.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer the successful candidate will posses:

Demonstrated ability in the underground environment
A bachelor degree in Mining Engineering or relevant qualification
Significant exposure to coal mining practices although exceptional candidates from hard rock mining will be considered
Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Above average software knowledge
High level technical ability with mine planning experience (highly advantageous)
The main responsibilities of this role will include:

Short term planning and scheduling
Technical liaison with relevant departments
Autonomous problem solving
Detailed report writing
Usage of Xpac, Microsoft Project and Primavera where necessary
