Electrical Engineer - Laboratory/Clean Room/Design 52-55 $/hr

Contract, possible temp to hire opportunity with a client located NE outside the Capital Beltway in the Washington DC area for a Electrical Project Engineer that has laboratory clean room, facility office, and computer room design/rehabilitation experience. Working on site this position will function as Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the multi-discipline work of the group. No per diem or mobilization so local candidates or those able to relocate on their own only.

Responsibilities:

-> Defining electrical scope and budgets, selecting equipment, developing efficient installation schedules, determining material takeoffs, and coordinating activities with other disciplines on the team
-> Using knowledge of current technology be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software
-> Plan, direct, and supervise the work on multiple projects simultaneously all requiring large-scale expenditures of manpower and financial investment
-> Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses
-> Develop operation and maintenance plans, standard operating procedures, prepare O & M manuals and possibly conduct on-site training of personnel
-> Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations
-> Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule
-> Other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Requirements:

-> 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and 10-12 years of related work experience
-> Professional Engineer registration is required
-> Laboratory clean room, facility office, and computer room design / rehabilitation experience
-> Background in unit substation, switchgear, generator and UPS design and specifications
-> Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD 2006 / 2007 and other software packages typically associated with engineering
-> Ability to work in a team environment
-> Good Interpersonal communication skills required

• What will show your ability to function as Project Engineer on medium to large laboratory clean room, facility office, and computer room design - rehabilitation experience projects to include defining electrical scope and budgets, selecting equipment, developing efficient installation schedules, etc as described?

• Detail any experience with unit substation, switchgear, generator and UPS design and specifications associated with these type of projects. Are you proficient using AutoCAD 2006 - 2007 and other software packages typically associated with engineering? (please list other software packages)

• Where do you current live? If not local are you able to relocate on your own to work and live NE outside the Capital Beltway in the Washington DC area?

• What is your current or most recent annual salary or hourly rate of pay and what is your desired rate of pay for this position?
