Position Overview:

As a member of the mine management team at this world-class gold deposit, you will be a leader in a production team environment to facilitate optimal production and recovery of gold ore from the underground resource. You will generate, implement, and complete multiple work assignments in a dynamic environment independently and with others..

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the General Manager the Mine Superintendent is responsible for:

o Organize and direct taking full responsibility of the underground activities to safely produce the planned tonnage and grade required to effectively and efficiently feed our mill.

o Interpret mine plans and effectively communicate targets and goals to the production teams.

o Provide leadership to ensure employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards.

o Mange Succession Planning within the Mining Team to ensure that Barrick achieves development of Hemlo employees to assume positions of increasing accountability.

o Implement and monitor operations budgeting and cost control systems.

o Liaise with the Chief Mine Engineer, Chief Mine Geologist and the Mill Superintendent to ensure that the crusher feed tonnage is in accordance with the plan.

o Act as Mine manager as required.

o Ensure that works are performed to the approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Field Level Risk Assessments are undertaken prior to the commencement of the works.

o You must possess Several years of related underground technical and progressive supervisory experience as well as the necessary leadership, administrative and organization skills to direct a team of 250+ people on a continuous operation basis.

Experience & Requirements:

• Proven safe work record required.

• You must possess Several years of related underground technical and progressive supervisory experience as well as the necessary leadership, administrative and organization skills to direct a team of 250+ people on a continuous operation basis.

• Professional accreditation related to mine engineering required.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Strong written and verbal communication, computing, planning, and problem solving skills

• Ability to successfully obtain background clearance required.
