4 year contract role Major international oil and gas contractor Exciting, high profile project
Hays Oil & Gas currently has a long-term contract opportunity for a highly experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Engineer to take a lead role on a major offshore project.

Already well established and highly successful in Europe and Asia, our client has secured a major new project in Western Australia and is looking for a HSEQ professional who is able to manage and coordinate all HSEQ activities and ensure that the company's existing corporate policies and procedures are compliant with Australian codes and standards.

Reporting to the Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will be wide and varied and will include (but are not limited to);

• ensuring that all contractual and regulatory policies are fully understood and embraced by all staff, contractors and suppliers
• integration of HSEQ policy into the scope of works
• the design and implementation of HSEQ information and management systems
• the development of project specific procedures and documentation
• subcontractor reviews
• audit and inspection planning and execution
• maintaining a training register
• liaising with legislative authorities
• lead accident investigations
• monitor safety and implement measures to highlight best practice

To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you will have a minimum of ten years experience specifically relating to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality together with formal health and safety qualifications and quality assessment accreditation. You must also have strong experience in the offshore oil and gas industry within Australia to enable you to act as the company's senior, accountable person for all HSEQ and to be effective in dealing with legislation and compliance issues.

Ideally, our client would like to see a strong track record of employment tenure with operating companies or offshore construction contractors, including the successful start up and management of major offshore projects.

Offered on a 4-year fixed term contract, this assignment will offer you job security and a significant degree of autonomy and responsibility. We are looking for applications only from those who are able to commit to see this project through to completion.
