Experience: Minimum Requirements
Experience (General & Specialized): Minimum 10/ 15 /20 years Reservoir Engineering work experience in petroleum industry� with not less than 5 / 8 �/ 10 ��years in the Specialized area (For experience, subtract 3 years for Ph.D. if done in relevant discipline)
Type of Specialist Experience: Very specific specialized experience vital/ critical /very critical to implementation of field development plans (Specific� knowledge/ skills/� training requirement pertaining to Reservoir Simulation, Reservoir Management and Reserves Growth, Water Flooding, EOR, as given below)��
1.����� Reservoir Modeling
The main task will be building history matched dynamic model for large reservoirs with long production history and analyzing different development options for optimizing development plan
The skills required are high level of knowledge on the commercial reservoir simulation software and its different modules and hand on experiencing in conducting integrated reservoir simulation studies. It includes
Quality Checking of� full field simulation project
Upscaling of geocellular model to reservoir simulation mode
History match dynamic model for reservoirs and identifying the key parameters to be matched
Prediction of reservoir performance under different development scenarios
Analyzing fluid properties, Special core analysis
Usage of software like Eclipse, Petrel RE �
2.Reservoir Management and Reserves Growth
The main task will be identification of activities required for improving the production performance, enhancement of recovery factor and reserves growth.�
The skills required are:
Formulation� and evaluation of depletion strategy
Evaluation of different development options
Effective monitoring and� review of the reservoir performance, identify problems and recommend corrective actions to improve reservoir performance
Knowledge of different methods for estimating reserves
Application of new technologies and strategies to improve field performance, extend the field life and enhance recovery factor
Identification of key reservoir uncertainty and risk parameters and means to mitigate major risks�
3.Water flooding
The main task will be conceptual designing and monitoring water injection projects, building and implementing the best procedures for water flood monitoring.
The skill required are:
Knowledge and ability to use tools� to design� a conceptual waterflood project
Evaluation of different flooding pattern and water flood performance by means of detailed simulation
Calculation of water flooding performance
Identifying different well and subsurface issues associated with waterflood and ways to resolve it.
Methods to identify that response of waterflood on reservoir performance
Requirements for efficient management of the water flood
4.Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
The main task will be developing conceptual design EOR project including pilot design and providing technical and economic justifications to the EOR pilot.
The skill required are:
Good understanding of major EOR processes including miscible gas injection and thermal recovery methods
Evaluation of different EOR methods to select the best suitable ones
Conducting simulation and other studies to examine EOR performance.
Develop conceptual design of an EOR method including pilot design
Identification of lab study requirements and evaluation of lab results
Identification of� the major variables for EOR project like reservoir variables, operational issues and geographical considerations
Job Scope
Provide specialist expertise and advice on specific projects related to medium and long term field development that optimizes production and maximizes reserves.
Conduct integrated reservoir studies that would involve reservoir simulation, reservoir management and reserves growth, water flooding, and EOR.
Identify technical challenges, problems and risks concerned with respective specialisation areas affecting field development projects and recommend/ initiate necessary steps to resolve the issues to improve performance.
Initiate studies and undertake special assignments,� projects, studies, assigned by the Management including acting as a member in committees/ task forces and reviews plans, programs, proposals, studies� and reports to provide expert opinion / necessary recommendations.
Review reservoir engineering work-flows and processes from several existing alternatives according to professional industry standards and bench mark company processes to standardise/ improvise them
Provide training to the technical staffs through facilitations, coaching, mentoring and supervising of technical studies.
Liaise, develop, coordinate and maintain sound relationship with internal and external bodies related to his field of specialization.
Enhance the understanding of reservoir engineering aspects of the petroleum reservoirs through application of new industry concepts, tools, and work-flows as well as continuous research to improve the depletion strategy for the reservoir and enhance the reserves
Liaise, develop, coordinate and maintain sound relationship with internal and external bodies related to his field of specialization
