Location: Saudi Arabia POSITION DESCRIPTION: Initiate, lead, provide consultation and conduct research in Petrophysical related topics, both individually and/or along with a team. Ability to generate new ideas and projects, and contribute substantially to existing efforts is required. The candidate is expected to have ability to communicate and steer research in various international R&D organization. Ability and desire to mentor young professionals is also required. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop, test, implement, apply and deploy new concepts in petrophysics, formation evaluation, reservoir description and deep diagnostics.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Candidate should hold an advanced degree in petroleum engineering or a closely related subject (e.g., physics or geology), with a PhD degree being highly preferred. It is expected that the candidate would have work experience in the oil & gas industry for 10 years or more. Excellence in research will be evidenced by the candidate's publications, invited presentations, patents, professional awards and honors, and professional society activities. The candidate should have been involved in special field studies for modeling petrophysical properties like permabilities, electrical properties, fluids contacts & distributions, etc. The candidate is expected to have experience in evaluating and applying different petrophysical interpretation models available in the industry like Log Analyze, Geolog, TecSia, etc. The candidate is expected also to have experience in evaluating and applying petrophysical methods / techniques like Picket plots, Dual-Water, Waxman-Smith, Light Hydrocarbon Correction, Mud Filtrate Effects on logs, etc. Capable in upscale and verification of petrophysical lab data to field application. Has experience in using laboratory petrophysical software to improve data quality. Provision of the candidate's technical publications, participations in formation evaluation, reservoir description, reservoir surveillance, field development and studies will be helpful. The candidate is expected to have contributions in developing petrophysical models / techniques and in introducing frontier technologies to formation evaluation and reservoir surveillance
