Basic Functions:
Make geological maps of TAQA North’s properties in Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming.
Identify exploitation opportunities, both technical and economic, to maximize asset value and increase production from the current 2000 BOPD.
Develop economic exploration opportunities on surrounding lands
Relationship:
Reports to the Geoscience Team Leader, Southern Business Unit.
Works with a multi-discipline team including the Exploitation and Production Engineers, Operations and field staff, Reservoir Engineer, Geophysicist, Landman, Engineering Tech,
Specific Responsibilites:
Conduct petrophysical analysis of major producing zones to incorporate into mapping.
Produce gross and net pay and structure maps on the main producing zones in TAQA’s US properties.
Construct reservoir models for larger pools in conjunction with engineering staff for the purpose of quantifying OOIP, assessing performance and identifying opportunities.
Identify optimization opportunities, technology applications, and value maximizing initiatives on a proactive basis.
Qualifications:
Professional Geologist with 10+ years of experience in oil and gas.
Experience working in the Williston Basin in the Midale, Ratcliffe, Bakken and Nisku formations.
Strong mapping and organization skills.
Experience working with Accumap and Petra.
Experience drilling Horizontal Wells.
Enthusiastic, highly motivated, team player with good organizational and technical skills.
Familiarity with reservoir modeling and simulation software is an asset.
Creative individual with a desire to continuously learn and develop their skills
