Mechanical Engineer - Vessel/Tanks/Design 60-60 $/hr

Location: Aiken, SC, USA
Client located in the Aiken, SC area has a 6 to 9 month contract opening for a degreed Engineer that has experience in mechanical design of pressure vessels and tanks for the nuclear or chemical processing industry. Per Diem is available although no travel is being offered. US Citizenship is required to be considered.

Responsibilities:

-> Develop equipment designs using validated and verified special application software (Compress or equivalent)
-> Perform dynamic equipment analyses and consider the effects of tank sloshing
-> Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
-> Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
-> Prepares detailed purchase requisitions for equipment and materials

Requirements:

-> 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 8-10 years of related work experience
-> At least 4 years of experience in mechanical design of pressure vessels and tanks for the nuclear or chemical processing industry
-> Familiar with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division I, ASME B31.3 Process Piping, American Petroleum Institute 620 and 650, and American Society of Civil Engineers ASCE 7-02 (vessel sloshing and anchorage)
-> Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with this skill set
-> Professional Engineer registration is a plus

Questions you will be asked:

• How many total years experience do you have in mechanical design of pressure vessels and tanks for the nuclear or chemical processing industry? How recent is this experience? Do you have a 4-year degree in Engineering and what discipline? Our client requires you to be eligible to work in the United States, what is your current work status?

• What experience will show you are familiar with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division I, ASME B31.3 Process Piping, American Petroleum Institute 620 and 650, and American Society of Civil Engineers ASCE 7-02 (vessel sloshing and anchorage)?

• Please detail any experience that will highlight your proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with this skill set?

• Where do you currently live and how quickly can you be available if selected for this position? As there is per diem but no mobilization or demobilization are you able to relocate on your own?

• What is your current or most recent annual salary or rate of pay? Are you willing to work for the rate listed and per diem only (no mob - demob)?
