Location: Saudi Arabia MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Education: MS Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or registration is highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience. Must have an M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Electrical and Mechanical engineering. Must be familiar with analytical tools and softwares used in optimizing chemical processes. Must be familiar with oil and gas process and economics. Must be familiar with energy KPI formulations. Affiliation with professional societies is highly desirable. Ten (10) years of professional experience, including years as an engineer in responsible charge of technical work in field of specialty. Incumbent will normally have achieved industry recognition through activities in professional societies and industrial organizations such as ASME, ASCE, ASTM, API, NACE, SEI and others. Incumbent must have published several papers in technical journals. Work direction skills are a prerequisite in some job applications. Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and be willing to transfer implicit knowledge to specialists and engineers. Provides expert advice and assistance to Company organizations, outside vendors, manufacturers, and design firms on matters relating to incumbent's area of expertise.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Consulting Services Department provides specialized engineering consultations for corporate operations and capital programs and to advance corporate profitability objectives through engineering standards and application of new and emerging technologies. The Energy Systems Unit of CSD is responsible in promoting energy conservation within Saudi Aramco facilities and develop energy conservation knowledge management system to share best in class practices and disseminates knowledge throughout the company.
The primary duties of the successful candidate are as follows: (1) process heat recovery optimization using pinch analysis (2) electrical power conservation and recovery (3) simulation modeling of combined heat & power (cogeneration) systems (4) energy conservation and energy waste minimization using analytical tools (5) capacity debottlenecking of batch production plants (6) energy performance indices (development and implementation (7) conduct seminars/courses in Process Integration techniques for energy/waste reduction (8) process design, including heat and material balance models, P&IDs, equipment specs, etc. (9) technical liaison, technology transfer.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides expert advice and assistance to Company organizations, outside vendors, manufacturers, and design firms on matters relating to incumbent's area of expertise. Originates and carries out engineering studies to determine potential problems and remedies to existing problems resolve complex technical problems, increase revenue, optimize processes, protect the environment, or improve safety. Develops and maintains Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards and Design Best Practices, Design Manuals or other documentation to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity. Evaluates and introduces best practices and new technologies from all over the world to help the Company achieve Best in Class positions in the oil business. Reviews and evaluates the capabilities of vendors and contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services to Aramco. Acts as Aramco's representative in dealings with vendors and manufacturers pertaining to incumbent's field of experience. Works on or with Task Forces assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific problems. Performs cost analyses and Value Engineering studies as appropriate. Undertakes special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations. Conducts seminars in the resolution of technical problems with personnel in other Engineering organizations. Writes papers for peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects incumbent has overseen. Provides engineering leadership to others assigned to assist him. Acts as a professional mentor to less senior specialists and engineers. Promotes a learning environment and implements self-development to maintain and improve expert status within engineering specialty.
