Location: Saudi Arabia POSITION DESCRIPTION: PE Specialist should have broad experience in oil and gas upstream business with specialty skills in subsurface. Incumbent should have a good understanding of Reservoir Geology, Drilling, and Production Engineering/Operations. He should have thorough understanding of and mastery technical knowledge and business skills in Petrophysics, Reservoir Simulation, Development and Management as well as Economic Evaluations.
Principle duties and specialty skills required by the RA&DS Division are as follows: Leads multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams comprised of geoscientists, engineers (drilling, completion, reservoir, production and facilities), economists and laboratory scientists to conduct pertinent integrated studies in his areas of expertise. Leads, participates in or conducts integrated studies on oil & gas reserves assessment of existing and new discoveries, incorporating risk & uncertainty and related commerciality evaluations. Has familiarity with oil and gas oil processing facilities and distribution systems. Identifies new oil and gas reservoir development opportunities and studies them by leading integrated teams to come up with optimal field development plans by reservoir through evaluation of various alternatives and economic analysis, including risk & uncertainty. This effort establishes an inventory of future production development opportunities and their relative profitability ranking, which is required by O&GPP Division to develop the Company's rolling five-year Business Plan Crude and Gas Programs. Analyzes complex and challenging issues related to probabilistic analysis to incorporate and manage technical & commercial risks in the key functions of reserves assessment and optimal production portfolio development. Directs and conducts special policy-related petroleum engineering studies on "what if" benefits & costs analysis, reserves re-assessment and the company's sustainable long-range production capability issues. Mentors and trains young engineers. Develops and makes sound recommendations that add value to the corporation. Has a well organized, goal orientated and independent-minded professional posture with excellent planning and communication skills. Writes reports and makes presentations to E&P / Company Executive Management and large audiences.
SELECTION CRITERIA: 15 years experience in the oil industry gained with a reputable oil & gas consulting and/or E&P company with significant emphasis and specialization in Reservoir Engineering and exposure to project related activities. Candidate should have a BS degree Petroleum or Chemical Engineering; a MS Degree in Petroleum and/or Economics (MBA) is preferable but not required. The candidate should have experience in leading, participating in and conducting integrated studies and analysis in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural setting. Incumbent must have in-depth experience in oil and gas reserves estimation and assessment, production development and investment decision analysis (or economic evaluations) that incorporates risk and uncertainty.
COMMENTS: Facilities & Production Development Department (FPDD) is one of four departments in Petroleum Engineering (PE). The department coordinates an overall Saudi Aramco effort to develop and publish the rolling five-year Business Plan Oil & Gas Programs and its drilling & MP requirements. It supports the ongoing PE activities in achieving oil and gas production targets and maintaining the maximum sustained capacity (MSC) and develops the scope for and manages the MP Budget for drilling platforms & well flowlines. The department is also responsible for coordinating an overall E&P annual effort to reassess, update, maintain, keep custody of and publish the oil & gas reserves report and related documents. The Reserves Assessment & Development Studies Division (RA&DSD) is one of the five (5) Divisions reporting directly to Manager of the FPDD.
