Location: Saudi Arabia POSITION DESCRIPTION: Conduct reservoir simulation studies. This includes model construction, history matching, calibration and prediction phases. Present and participate in project technical reviews. Prepare progress reports on regular basis and final documentation upon completion of a study. Perform studies for complex reservoirs. Propose and study various alternatives to develop new fields and/or optimize current production/injection strategies, analyze problems and recommend practical solutions. Evaluate and apply new modeling techniques, tools or technologies.
SELECTION CRITERIA: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: BS Petroleum Engineering or equivalent technical field. Experience: Minimum 10 years of related experience including 7 years of intensive experience in the area of reservoir simulation. OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have an outstanding knowledge of reservoir engineering methods and technologies. Candidate must have an outstanding technical capability in numerical reservoir simulation in which the candidate has received broad industry recognition. Demonstrated research capabilities in special studies and projects with published results of work. Excellent business acumen. Must have the necessary leadership skills to form and lead technical teams. Excellent knowledge in the different oil and gas field operations and practices including Drilling & Workover, Production, Reservoir Management. Must have the ability and desire to train Saudi engineers and relate well to fellow employees, with different cultural background and nationalities. Involvement with national and international professional societies. Represent Saudi Aramco in industry committees or specialized groups as appropriate.
COMMENTS: Provide formation evaluation services (interpretation, witnessing jobs, petrophysical analysis and logging programs) to the E&P organization. Serve as custodian of all Saudi Aramco well logs and log data. Serve as proponent for all company wireline logging contracts and monitor logging contractor performance. Coordinate efforts to test and deploy new formation evaluation tools and technologies. Serve as custodian of Petroleum Engineering and Producing corporate well database. Coordinate well testing activities (design/witness exploratory and special development wells) and interpret all well tests. Undertake reservoir-modeling studies for key wells and all major reservoirs/fields to optimize the development/production strategies of the company's hydrocarbon assets. Perform integrated field and reservoir studies to support Reservoir Management with efficient solutions for field development. Support estimation of reserves and OOIP/OGIP for major fields/reservoirs through petrophysical determination of hydrocarbon pore volume and reservoir simulation.
