We are currently partnered with one of the world leadings producers of high quality magnesia, with operations right here in Queensland. With mine sites, refinery facilities and a regional office located near the Capricorn Coast this company has grown and become a fully integrated global supplier comprising state of the art operations. This success has created key position requirements, a key appointment being that of Mine Engineer. Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Logistics, the position is primarily responsible for the provision of professional and technical advice to manage mine planning, scheduling, budgeting and safety.
You will also be responsible for:
Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of mine production schedules, budgets and forecasts
Take a lead role in the preparation of plans, designs and schedules for mine pits Monitor and evaluate mine operations
Preparation of monthly mine production and cost reports
Management of mine surveying requirements
In order to be successful in the role you will be required to possess:
Tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering
Considerable experience in open cut mining operations
Experience in short and medium term mine planning
Knowledge and application of best practice mining principles including mine design.
The successful candidate will enjoy living in a vibrant regional city only 40km's from the Capricorn Coast and Southern Barrier Reef. In addition, the area is well serviced by medical, governmental and education facilities, an airport and thriving business and commercial centres.
