THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by a leading oil & gas energy company to provide an Offshore Ice Analyst. Job will be based Offshore at a drilling location and will be outside in a harsh weather environment. 28/28 rotation. Excellent rates.
THE PERSON
3-5 years work experience in Ice Engineering or related arctic experience. Must have data collection / analysis experience (preferably in the oil & gas industry). Responsible for: Recording / forecasting ice conditions / movements at drilling locations in accordance with published procedures; Advising on effects of such movements and on measures to mitigate risks; Advising on ice alert status /appropriate evacuation routes in ice; Participating in field ice measurement programs; Analysing ice and other environmental data to provide advice relevant to design / execution of projects. Carry out training / development of Kazakh Ice Analyst trainees. Advise OIM and Company man about ice conditions / any risks posed by ice to infrastructure / construction, drilling / logistical operations in the North Caspian Sea, whilst on rotation at offshore drilling platforms in winter. Collect data / provide reports using the tools specified within the Ice Advisor Guidelines. Work with Ice Engineer / Ice Charting team to fully document the ice conditions around the offshore structures and ensure that the information is available in a suitable format for the Ice database. Act as interface between Ice Charting Team and vessels operating within NE Caspian / pass on appropriate information from Ice Charting Team to vessels on the ice conditions they may encounter on their passage.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
University degree in Engineering. Proficiency with MS Windows, Excel, Word. Ability to work on offshore rigs; assume high level responsibilities regarding rig safety in terms of ice matters; work with little technical supervision. Job will involve working alongside personnel from many different nationalities. Fluent written and spoken English; Russian and Kazakh language beneficial.
