The Australian Resources Industry has certainly borne the brunt of the Global Economic Crisis of late – where once it was our greatest employer, the layoffs that have occurred due to Market conditions have certainly taken their toll on those currently employed in the industry and as such confidence is low within the sector. Not all companies are doing it tough though, and our client is one of those who have managed to position themselves to take advantage of the growth opportunities still available!

Our client is a giant in the mining contracting industry – a rare diamond that is synonymous with profitable sites, quality, industry leading safety initiatives, efficient scheduling and a reputation for building careers and rewarding their employees with salary packages and conditions exceeding the market average.

Their growth strategy has continued unabated since the global economic crisis, and as an indication of this they are seeking to hire 2 Project Managers to further strengthen their current sites and another 2 as strategic hires for their substantial work in hand.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Financial and Progress reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Managing a core group of staff through the project phase
- Compliance to all Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Plans for the site and also adherence to Australian Standards by implementing a “safety first” mindset for the site
- Scheduling and planning all resources together with the project team
- Revision of all design together with the project team
- Instigating training, development and mentoring for all staff
- Increasing production rates
- Initiate systems and check existing systems
- Implement the project plan
- Regular Liaison with the client to ensure project success

To be considered for this role you will have previous experience in a similar role, a mining degree and an ability to manage a large team from project inception to delivery.
